    Since 1984, VHQC, a nonprofit, health quality consulting company, has been leading the way to better care for patients by collaborating with provider, patient and stakeholder organizations. VHQC is the Quality Innovation Network (QIN) for Maryland and Virginia and leads Virginia Health IT (VHIT), the statewide Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center (REC) for Virginia. VHQC is expanding both our services and the number of healthcare providers that we serve and we are seeking team members who want to grow with us.

    As a Physician Practice Consultant, you will be responsible for providing best practice solutions and consultative services assisting primary care providers across Virginia. Responsibilities also include assisting practices in quality reporting through their EHR and applying the latest quality improvement tools and techniques to improve quality metrics. Team members will also assess practice workflows and implement updated models to improve efficiency in patient care.

    Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work independently and be part of cross-functional teams, develop strong consultative relationships, manage multiple priorities, and implement improvement plans of action. Highly developed communication skills, experience with optimization of an EHR system, physician practice workflow redesign is a plus.  Team members potentially have the freedom to work from home.
    Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an ambulatory health care setting. Bachelor’s degree in healthcare field or related area or LPN/RN licensure. Experience with quality improvement and EHRs desirable. Ability to travel between healthcare provider locations within the state and/or region.

    Guilford County, (pop.512,000) located in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina with major population centers of Greensboro and High Point, is seeking a Human Services Director to lead the consolidated Department of Health and Human Services, a recently consolidated human services department with 972 full-time employees and a total operating budget for FY 2015/16 of $105.3 million.  The Human Services Director will have the opportunity to facilitate the completion and manage the implementation of the agency consolidation plan to include the organizational structure, vision, mission and core values, establishing DHHS Strategic Goals and benchmarks to measure performance.

    The successful candidate will be a disciplined professional with strong leadership, management and collaboration skills with the ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with elected officials, department directors and community leaders as well  as non-profit and private sector service organizations.   The Human Services Director must possess strong analytical skills and have experience in strategic planning, managing special projects, conducting research and formulating policy recommendations, developing and administering budgets, and building partnerships in the community.  Proactive, goal oriented, visionary leader with excellent communication, critical thinking abilities and interpersonal skills that leads by example in the areas of integrity and work ethic that is comfortable working in and fostering an environment of  transparency, accountability, continuous organizational improvement and innovative and collaborative problem-solving.  Must understand, appreciate and have the ability to articulate to a diverse community how a holistic approach to providing public health and social services is the best way to improve community health outcomes, pathways to employment and financial independence and self-sufficiency.

    The ideal candidate will have Master's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Human Services or Public Administration or other applicable administrative programs with six year’s experience  managing client services programs in an executive / director capacity in public health, social services, or a related human services field; Or, graduation with a four year degree with ten years management experience in a human services organization as stated above with significant experience in local government.

    The starting salary for the position is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience within a range of $150,000 to $195,516.   Excellent benefits are also provided.

    Virginia Beach Department of Public Health

    Maternal Child Health Nurse Supervisor

    The City of Virginia Beach seeks the dedication, experience, and expertise of a Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor to serve the maternal/child citizens of our community. The RN Supervisor is an integral part of the Virginia Beach Department of Public Health Community Team, with the primary focus of implementing the Baby Care program in accordance with established guidelines, contract requirements and Department of Medical Assistance (DMAS) regulations.

    The Baby Care Supervisor will use knowledge of maternal child health practices, principles of home visiting, reflective practice and staff development to provide primary support and appropriate oversight to nurse case managers, and to build and model a strengths-based, client-centered program. Exercise line supervision over registered nurses and ancillary staff (outreach worker and clerk) to support the Baby Care program.

    The supervisor's responsibilities will include: recruitment and hiring, formal performance evaluations, issuing discipline, performing regular chart audits, and conducting quarterly case reviews.
     In this position, the supervisor will oversee the creation and maintenance of the Baby Care/maternal child health database; ensure maintenance of applicable statistics; create and submit required reports; review all billing denials, and take proactive measures to prevent denials.
