The PhD programs in Healthcare Policy and Research and Social and Behavioral Sciences are accepting applications for fall 2018. Qualified students are offered up to four years of funding, including full tuition and fees waiver.

Health Behavior and Policy has a number of funded and emerging policy-related research areas that include work on state policy evaluations, healthcare access, quality and costs, cancer prevention and control, community engaged research, obesity prevention and treatment, communication in healthcare, health disparities, cancer prevention and control, women’s health, economic and systems modeling and behavioral economics, to name a few areas. The department also has invested in both national datasets and unique state and local data that are available for student research.

Our aim is to train exceptional independent researchers and our graduates have had great success, winning awards for their research (AcademyHealth and William & Mary Graduate Research Symposium) and finding employment as faculty and post-docs or in private research positions.
