Virginia Health Workforce Development Authority-Evaluator

Position: Program Evaluator

Status: Grant-funded, Part-Time (Non-Exempt)

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Job Description: The Program Evaluator is responsible for coordinating programmatic data collection, analysis and reporting for the Virginia Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Cooperative Agreement with Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) by collecting data reports from the AHEC Center Directors, answering questions or clarifying completion requirements, reminding Centers when data reports are due/overdue, and making site visits to Centers when necessary to instruct and/or assist with data entry.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Analyze, research and compile data, develop information and consider available solutions or alternate methods concerning strategic goals, as well as all other functions pertaining to policy and program development
  • Provide technical assistance in defining metrics and developing data collection instruments across a range of policy and evaluation projects
  • Create and maintain data tracking from multiple sources; and ensure data quality processes (defining, tracking, refining, and validating)
  • Develop, write and edit reports and briefs that demonstrate analytical information to inform decision-making processes for internal and external audiences
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

The ideal candidate will have at minimum a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with preferable coursework in public policy, public administration, public health, or related field with at least three years’ experience in a program evaluator, program analyst role or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in public administration, public health, health administration, education administration, community/workforce development, or other health-related field. Familiarity with the communities of the AHEC catchment areas is also desired.
