Program and Engagement Manager-Virginia Oral Health Coalition

The Virginia Oral Health Coalition (www.vaoralhealth.org) is an alliance of organizations and individuals striving to improve the health and well being of all Virginians by ensuring oral health is part of comprehensive health care. The Coalition seeks a Program & Engagement Manager to oversee development and successful implementation of Coalition initiatives, including health care integration efforts and a state-specific report card, while managing engagement efforts with new and existing community partners.  

Specific responsibilities and job requirements are listed below.

Responsibilities:

  • ·         Collaborate with executive director to lead VaOHC advocacy and integration efforts, including development of a Virginia-specific report card
  • ·         Manage project workgroups
  • ·        Develop policy statements
  • ·         Facilitate development of tools and resources to support integrated health care in safety net clinics, private practice, large health systems and academic institutions in Virginia
  • ·         Conduct research related to oral health access, delivery of care and health policy issues at the state and national level
  • ·         Identify and engage traditional and non-traditional partners and maintain relationships
  • ·         Provide succinct program reports to funders, Coalition board and executive director, and initiative participants
  • ·         Provide oversight to Coalition’s program assistant and student interns

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • ·         Strong analytic and communication skills, ability to write clearly and succinctly, and make well-organized verbal presentations
  • ·         An understanding of state and national health policy
  • ·         The ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously and prioritize competing demands in a fast changing environment
  • ·         The ability to seek and engage new partners while maintaining existing relationships
  • ·         Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • ·         A commitment to producing consistently high quality, detailed work, even under deadline pressure
  • ·         Excellent computer skills
  • ·         Experience with or dedicated interest in oral health access issues
  • ·         Previous experience managing and developing statewide initiatives (a plus)
  • ·         Flexibility, a sense of humor and desire to work in a drama-free, collaborative, hard-working and fun environment

Requirements:

  • ·         Bachelor’s degree required, Masters in related field preferred
  • ·         Academic or safety net experience a plus
